The Green River (near Pinedale, WY) is starting to fish very well
indeed. Though still a bit high and tea colored the salmon flies are
hatching and the trout are looking up.
Sunny weather has been providing the best conditions as the females use
these periods to return to the river to lay eggs. The naturals are in
the size 6 to 4 range. Use your favorite salmon fly patterns such as
Lempke's Stone, Orange Tarantulas, Henry's Fork Salmonfly Stone, and the
Criss-cross Stone.
Dead drifts near structure seems to work best though an occasional
twitch can also be productive.
